$11.205 Million Jury Verdict in Employment Discrimination Case

San Diego County jury awarded $11.2 million to a 74-year old former employee of Octapharma Plasma Inc., in an age discrimination, failure to accommodate and wrongful termination trial.  The employee faced termination after working 19 years at Octapharma Plasma, Inc.  A pre-trial settlement offer of $150,000 plus fees was rejected. The jury returned a verdict of $11.205 million—$2.205 million in non-economic damages and $9 million in punitive damages.
